Conversations with an Agrarian Elder






Internationally known organic farmer and OSGATA President will speak about agroecology & organic farming systems this Earth Day.

Considered an Agrarian Elder, Gerritsen has farmed organically for more than 30 years. He and his wife Megan own and operate  Wood Prairie Farm, in Bridgewater, ME.

The event, held by FAMU StateWide Small Farm Programs: College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, is slated for Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Tallahassee, FL.

Gerristen’s presentation will tackle a wide breadth of topics in organic agriculture: including organic farming and growing the best organic potatoes, building resilient agriculture and food systems, the role of organic farms, and threats to organic food security and organic food integrity.
