Greetings!
Thank you for your support of OSGATA. We have worked to support organic seed and soil-based farming over the course of 2017 and we need your help to continue to support the seed sector of the organic community in 2018.
In 2017, our board members, Lisa Stokke, Isaura Anduluz, and Jim Gerritsen attended both National Organic Standards Board meetings advocating for organic integrity and a level playing field for family farmers. In November, we stood up in Jacksonville, Florida for authentic, soil-based organic growing—not the industrial-scale soil-less “organic” hydroponic operations that threaten family-scale producers, the core of OSGATA’s membership and the organic community.
Collectively, OSGATA serves on USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology & the 21st Century, IFOAM Seed Committee, No Organic Checkoff, and supported the Keep-The-Soil-in-Organic work and rallies. OSGATA is a tireless advocate for the type of organic seed system and community you, our members, need in order to prosper and grow.
We are currently planning the OSGATA Meet & Greet, our Annual Membership Meeting, the biennial in-person Board meeting plus attendance at the Organic Seed Alliance conference in Corvallis, OR this February. We hope to see you there!
With Gratitude,
Jim Gerritsen, President
